Madeline is a classically trained vocalist from Lafayette, Louisiana. Her love for music began when she was a very young child, and her parents recognized her passion for singing early on. Madeline began studying voice at the age of 7, and has been studying and performing ever since. With a passion for both vocal and instrumental music, Madeline also plays the flute and piano, and is eager to learn as many musical skills as she can over time. Madeline studied voice at UL Lafayette under the direction of Shawn Roy and Dr. William Plummer, in which time she earned choral scholarships, placed 1st at local and regional vocal competitions, and got to sing in numerous inspiring masterclasses and performances, both in choirs and as a soloist. She is so grateful for the many opportunities she was given throughout her college career, and feels blessed to have the classical training that she does.
Madeline has a passion for various musical genres, with Jazz, R&B, and Neo-Soul being her long time favorites. She was a 6 year member of professional choir, BREVE, an ensemble dedicated to the study and performance of Renaissance and Baroque Music, which performs all around the state of Louisiana. Madeline is a featured vocalist for various churches, services, and events in the Acadiana area, and hopes to further pursue higher education in the arts in her near future.
Currently, Madeline is in the process of putting together her first demo album, and appreciates the support of the community! In addition to a variety of vocal engagements and performances, Madeline has been teaching private voice, flute, and beginner piano lessons for over nine years in Acadiana. She has performed with various local bands, the Acadiana Symphony Orchestra, the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra, The New York Voices, Diane Schurr, and many more. She looks forward to many more opportunities to collaborate with the abundance of talented artists in the area. Madeline is passionate about teaching and mentoring, and so excited about being on the teaching team at The Music Box! Madeline’s goal in teaching is to help students feel confident, creatively inspired, self-aware, and empowered as musicians and individuals.
