Lily is currently enrolled as an undergraduate student at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette working towards a degree in Piano Performance with a Spanish Minor. She has been performing and competing in piano events for 17 years, and has been teaching students of all ages since she was in middle school. She also has 6 years of experience in musical direction for theater companies around Lafayette, during which she has assisted in producing shows such as Next to Normal, Gallantry, and The Baird on Broadway. Her collaborative experience also extends to her participation in the Women’s Choir of UL as their accompanist, where she fostered further regard for voice and cross-disciplinary interests—a skill and appreciation that she strives to pass down to her students.
As a teacher, Lily values building musical relationships with her students that encourage creativity and individuality in their craft. She believes that music is not only immensely therapeutic, but is one of the strongest means of character building at any age. Ultimately, her foremost goal as a teacher is to instill a love for music that is long-lasting and ever-evolving. Her greatest joy is seeing her students grow and share in her greatest passion.
