Julianne Reed has been playing the piano for the past five years under the mentoring of Tori Gossen and Nicole Guillory and has a passion for using her skills to lead worship. She has been leading praise and worship for the past two years for different retreats and Catholic Churches across the Gulf South. She has played for different churches such as Sacred Heart in Ville Platte, St. Bernard in Breaux Bridge, Our Lady of Wisdom at UL, and the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist in Lafayette, for Dumb Ox Ministries ECHO retreats, and for FOCUS retreats in Mississippi.
Her experience of leading music began at her home parish, Sacred Heart, where she was playing once a month for first Friday adoration. Once she moved to Lafayette, she quickly became involved in music ministry at the Catholic Student Center. Julianne works under the guidance of Duston Stoute, Director of Music at Our Lady of Wisdom, and works with three other musicians every week for masses and adorations. She has a strong passion for leading others in prayer through the liturgy by means of sacred music. She hopes to create that same passion in her students no matter what type of music they would like to play!
Julianne plays for mass twice a week at Our Lady of Wisdom and once a week for adoration at the Cathedral and Our Lady of Wisdom. She is currently a student at UL majoring in communications. In her free time, she enjoys hanging out with her friends at the Catholic student center on campus, playing music at Our Lady of Wisdom Catholic Church and student center and at St John the Evangelist Cathedral, and most likely enjoying copious amounts of coffee. She is looking forward to teaching new students and helping instill passion and confidence in their musical abilities.
