Jacqueline is an experienced and certified pianist, vocalist and music teacher with over 20 years of experience in Lafayette, LA. She comes from a musical family, and began teaching as a young girl assisting group piano lessons with her mother. She then started to accept beginner private piano students in 1996, and began accompanying choirs at church in 1999.
From a young age, she sang with many choirs and at weddings and funerals with her family. She was a member of the OAKE National Children’s Honor Choir for 3 years which brought her to Salt Lake City, UT, Minneapolis, MN, and Baltimore, MD. During college, she was honored to sing with a large choir for the debut of a new composition by Paul Baker in Carnegie Hall in New York City in 2005. She continued to play, sing, and accompany for choirs all through college and obtained her Bachelors in General Studies with a concentration in Music from UL Lafayette in 2009, and then later her certification for Vocal Music Education K-12 in 2015. Before and throughout her college career, she also did extensive studies in dance, theater, and visual art. She taught music for the Lafayette Parish School System for 4 years, and is currently at St. Pius Elementary school, where she teaches General Music for lower grades, and Chorus and Music Theater for upper grades. Her performance experience ranges from church services and masses, weddings and funerals, to choir festivals and solo performances, musical theater shows, and also Christian contemporary, blues, swamp pop, classic R&B and jazz with local bands and vocalists.
